Stage 1 covers the first five weeks of the course. By coincidence, these were the five weeks leading up to the federal election. At a later date it will be interesting to compare Stage 1 and Stage 2 in light of the election, particularly if there is a change of government.

The word limit for Stage 1 of the Learning Portfolio was 3000 words. It was challenging to try and describe these topics, in all their richness and complexity, and the ways they link together, without exceeding this limit.
